Real estate sales has been a very important part of my life since I was licensed in 1978. I quickly obtained my Broker’s license (not required then), and completed the Graduate Realtor’s Institute (GRI), as well as becoming a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). Currently, I am the Principal Broker and sole proprietor of NW Columbia Real Estate, LLC, and have worked with both Buyers and Sellers for over 40 years in the Portland Metro area.

After nine years in sales, I became a licensed appraiser, completing appraisals around the Portland Metro area for four years. My appraisal experience was one of the most important learning periods for my real estate sales. Appraising was like taking a Master’s level course; it taught me so much more about the items which go into creating value–location, quality, condition; understanding contributors such as floor plan and lot siting, and the intangible, “appeal”. I learned to find the best comparable sales and listings, and really came to understand how to analyze them.

I will take the time to delve into how your property, or a property you are considering buying, stacks up in the market as far as value. Pricing is one of the most important steps in marketing. If you are selling your home, I can give you an advantage by discussing where your property falls into the range of value, and why. It is this ability which sets me apart from many other Realtors out there.

My success as a Realtor is due to a strong foundation in education, good work habits, diligent follow-up and a commitment to quality performance. I offer my clients professional guidance and advice based on experience and knowledge, and provide you with the special attention you need in your real estate transactions. I strive to provide the highest level of service so your transaction will close in a manner satisfactory to you. By paying attention to the details, and taking care of the business, I will lighten your load, whether you are buying or selling, so you can concentrate on your move and the next stage of your life.

On a personal level, the other area of my life which is equally important to me is my Wellness and Fitness. I have a Master’s degree in Physical Education, and exercise

daily, including stretching and weight training. I believe that paying attention to your physical condition enhances your mental abilities, and helps you operate on a more even keel in the demanding business of sales. I believe that when I feel good physically, I can do a better job of relating to my clients. Over the years I have competed at state and national levels in swimming, running, and motorcycle racing (desert and motocross) and currently compete in Master’s level bicycling, both road racing and time trials.
